Glass Reinforced Concrete

Glass Reinforced Concrete takes a project from the first planning stage right through to the post-completion snagging and follow-up review. We encourage our clients to bring their thoughts to the table where our experienced team can discuss what is required. Planning and strategy

As glass reinforced concrete installers, we know that using the material requires specialist design from the outset and there is no time constraint here – everything needs to be well-designed to the last detail to ensure a seamless project once construction begins. The GRC components will need to be constructed to withstand all the live loads they will ever be asked to withstand during their estimated lifespan and the support or restraint system has to be an integral part of the planning at this stage too. It is at this stage that the panel size will be decided, including any stiffening if required. Any decorative finish will also need to be agreed now, so that the relevant matrices can be designed and constructed. GRC does not have decoration added afterwards – it is integral in the manufacture. Our experienced team ensure that all design work is accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and it is also fully supported by professional indemnity insurance.

Supply and install

Once the design stage has been completed, along with any test pieces if the project includes any previously untested panel size or shape, we begin manufacturing of the panels. We use only tried and tested methodology and each stage is checked as it is completed for tensile strength, elasticity and suitability for the task ahead. If decorative finishes are required, the client will be given the opportunity to check the first piece to make sure that the design is as expected. Once the construction of the building is at the suitable stage, our experienced glass reinforced concrete installers will arrive at the site to add the panels to the structure. This will be overseen by a dedicated project manager who will have been on board throughout the process and he will be backed by an experienced team.

Follow-up and review

All of our components are exaustively tested before they are installed in any structure so we are very confident that our glass reinforced concrete will wear well and be more than able to take the strains and stresses to which it will be subjected. We do however always review every project and check that everything is in order so that any small problems which may have occurred can be put right as soon as possible. A complete review of the project will be kept as a record which we find very helpful to us but is also a handy reference document for the overall construction team, should changes be needed at any time in the future.
